The Early Career Group of Bioimaging North America is committed to empowering students (undergraduate and graduate), postdocs, recent graduates, and emerging professionals to excel in their careers within the bioimaging sector.

Our goals are:

  • Provide curated guides and resources that cover essential topics such as mentorship, graduate school, and job market navigation.
  • Foster a robust and inclusive network of early-career individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Serve as a catalyst for both professional and personal development, thereby contributing to the broader advancement of the bioimaging community.

Figure Making Best Practices – Checklist & Demo

This virtual event hosted by the Early Career WG and members of QUAREP-LiMi WG12  includes an overview by Christopher Schmied, co-chair of QUAREP-LiMi WG 12, of the “Community-developed checklists for publishing images and image analyses”, followed by a Demo from Jan Brocher expanding on his Halfway to I2K presentation and covering common challenges encountered during figure making. 

A resource document with all the links to helpful resources was shared during the seminar and the recording is now available on the BINA YouTube channel.

How to Get Hired!: Networking & Resumes

The BINA Early Career WG will hosted a seminar on “How to Get Hired!” focused on Networking and Resumes led by Ellen Dobson, PhD, GCDF, Morgridge Institute for Research, and Andrew Stone, PhD, Brandeis University Light Microscopy Core Facility Manager and BINA Early Career WG Member.
